Pastor

TOLA FAMINU

Adetola N. Faminu’s story begins at his birth: September 16th, 1992. He grew up in northern Virginia with his family and later moved down to Georgia in 2006. He fell in love with Jesus Christ at the age of 13, that same year. Immediately upon his salvation, Adetola began to serve as an usher for his local church in Conyers, GA for 6 years. God gave Tola a vision to pastor a church in Atlanta, when he was only a junior in high school, at the age of 16. Little did he know, the vision that God had given him had an appointed time and would soon come to pass.

As a freshman in college, Tola began ministerial training at Spirit and Truth Worship Center in Statesboro, GA under the leadership of Pastor Paul R. Johnson. God accelerated his growth there and placed a huge urgency on his heart for ministry, a priority for saving souls, and outreach. Tola later moved to Atlanta, GA in 2012 where he began to serve as a vessel at the Hand of the LORD International Church, under the leadership of Pastor YaQuis Shelley.

As only God saw fit, Tola began to serve and lead as pastor of Identity In Christ Ministries in September 2014. God has been cultivating a unique body of passionate worshippers and individuals at this church since then. Their goal, mission, and motto is to authentically glorify the name and love of Jesus Christ.

Adetola has been married to his soul-mate, Djanene Faminu, since July 30th 2016. Djanene faithfully serves the LORD with her husband at IIC and is passionate about speaking life into others, truth in the world, and serving God through song.

Adetola’s Father and Mother (Adebiyi and Ife Faminu, respectively) are both believers in the LORD and served has a huge inspiration to Tola’s spiritual growth. Adetola has one older brother: Adetayo Faminu, and three little sisters: Temi Faminu, Teju Faminu, and Titi Faminu. He dearly loves his family.

Tola also graduated from Georgia Tech in December of 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. He loves to write music, dance, play piano, play basketball, eat good food, and fellowship with other believers. He believes that God has given everyone a unique identity in Christ that sets them apart from everyone else in this world. His goal is for you to cultivate that beautiful truth, in all you do, for His glory.
